The Parable of the Talents is found in Matthew 25. We all know the Parable of the Talents if you have sat in church you know that a man traveled to a far country and left his servants with some money. He gave one person five talents. He then he gave another two talents and he gave another person one talent. A Talent in those days was substantial. So he gave one 5 talents, one he gave 2, and one he gave 1. When he came back, the one who had given him 5 talents had made another 5 and gave his Master back ten talents. The one who had received 2 had gained another 2 talents and returned 4 talents.

The one who had received one talent said he replied with an excuse to his master, scripture records “Then the one who had received one talent came up and said, ‘Lord, I knew that you are a hard man, reaping where you have not sown and reaping where you had not scattered. And I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here is what is yours.’

His lord answered and said to him: Bad and negligent servant, you knew that I reap where I did not sow and gather where I did not spread. You should therefore deposit my money with the bankers, and at my coming, I would like to receive mine with interest: therefore, take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents.

‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and to him who has plenty; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. And cast the useless servant into the outer darkness. There will be crying and gnashing of teeth.

Now, this man is about a man who went to a far country. Well, Jesus has gone to a far country and the people who give their lives for him would be called his servants. And so Jesus is illustrating, he has gone to heaven. This Master in the parable gave talents to each person, each according to his ability.

Let’s take a look at this ability. There are some people who were born into a rich family, had a good education, had the world at their feet, were born with a good brain, had no problems with money, went to the best colleges, had the best encouragement. , they had people around them who loved them, and they were born with good abilities. This is the kind of person who is given five talents.

There are not many people who come from poor families who end up ruling a state or a country. People from fairly privileged backgrounds seem to find their way into politics and leadership. So when the Lord is distributing the five talents, He is distributing the five and the two and the one according to the ability of the recipient. So take comfort in knowing that the Lord knows your ability. He is not going to ask for something that is too difficult for you. He is not going to ask for something that you cannot do. You are not going to be the servant, in no way are you going to be the servant who has just been given a talent and you have wasted it by burying it.

There is no way that could happen to you. This cannot happen by mistake. This is a deliberate action by a person who has been given a talent. We are all given natural talents and abilities and God wants us to use those abilities for the betterment of the Kingdom of God. Now, there are a lot of people who don’t know what their talents are, and that requires a bit of research. Normally, talents are found in what you can do well. Normally your spiritual gifts are things you can do well, but sometimes we need to identify what our spiritual gifts are. That is where a spiritual gifts test that you can find in a search and Google is very helpful in this area so that you can determine what your spiritual gifts are so that you can move in them.

There is nothing more rewarding than walking in these spiritual gifts and talents. There is nothing more exciting than knowing what your spiritual gifts are and walking in them. So someone who is an example of someone who has been given five talents and has given five talents back to the Lord is similar to Benny Hinn or Kenneth Copeland or Joyce Meyer. These people have been promoted by the Lord and given much authority in his Kingdom to do great works. And they are using their talents to the best of their ability.

Someone who has been given two talents may be someone who pastors a church but also speaks at conferences and goes from church to church as a guest speaker while preaching at his own church and pastoring his own church.

And a person who has been given a talent may be just like you and me, the average Christian. I just bought a simple, cheap, $500 camera and I sit down and make YouTube videos. I sit at a cheap computer and write articles and put them on the Internet. Thousands of people read these articles and watch these videos every month. Doing that is just using my little talent and I’m doubling the talent.

I don’t like to think that no servant of God can be found wasting his talent. I don’t like to think that any believer in Jesus Christ would be cast out into the outer darkness. This is not something he seems to even want to consider. And this is one of the reasons for this teaching. I encourage you to take a spiritual gifts test to find out what his spiritual gifts are and take a spiritual gifts test to find out what his spiritual gifts are. There is nothing more exciting as I have said than walking in these spiritual gifts.

Now, I have the gift of teaching, I have the gift of prophecy, word of knowledge, word of wisdom, which are all prophetic gifts. I have the gift of encouragement and the gift of evangelization and I use all of those gifts.

Then there are the ministry offices. I’m pretty good as an evangelist, I’m pretty good as a prophet, and I’m pretty good as a teacher. And it is very rewarding to be able to walk and practice what the Lord has called you to do.

Now everyone has a destiny and a purpose and there is a destiny that God has for you. You need to find out what your destiny is. Most of the time, your destiny can be found in what you want to do, your dreams, your desires, your biggest dreams. They are often your destiny and you need to take baby steps and work towards it.

For many years, I have wanted to preach. I had a friend who bought a camera and we started preaching a little bit and then he sold the camera to a pawn shop and we couldn’t preach anymore and that bothered me but it planted a seed and a desire in me.

A couple of years later our government gave us some money because of the recession and I bought myself a camera and started making videos online on YouTube and as you can see in a search under my full name on YouTube, I’ve got a few hundreds of videos. This is walking into a destination. I hope that in the future I will not only be preaching to people on the Internet, but I hope to be preaching to audiences and in churches, but we have to take everything one step at a time. We can move slowly towards our destination or quite fast, it all depends on the Lord and his wisdom.

You may be taking steps and equipping yourself and becoming more proficient in individual parts of your destiny before you move into the whole thing. So I encourage you, know your spiritual gifts. Know your dream and your destiny and start towards it. And that you are hurt.
