I will begin by addressing us on a platform that we are products of mental conditioning. According to Sam Adeyemi, 2006, he said: “We may have underestimated the impact of our colonization in this part of the world, but slavery and colonization deliver a devastating blow to the mind. When people go through slavery like Israel was in Egypt, or people are colonized, their self-esteem is destroyed, a victim mentality is generated and an attitude of irresponsibility is generated”. He went further to say that slavery and colonization give rise to the POVERTY MENTALITY. Slavery also breeds irresponsible living. Give way to blaming someone else for your failure. Even some fifty-six years after the evacuation of our land, we still blame our colonialists (Britain) for our underdevelopment. Although, the effects of their colonization may still be there, but what about what we have done and are doing to ourselves? Are they the ones who plunder our government coffers, rig elections, pass unfair trials, promote injustice, and mistreat the masses, just to name a few?

Nigeria is not productive. We are conditioned to get help, which is a bad strategy to acquire wealth. Even the Apostle Paul confirmed it by quoting our Lord Jesus in Acts 20:35, when he said “…it is more blessed to give than to receive”. You can never see anyone getting out of poverty when ‘receiving’ is the order of the day. Also, Nigeria’s dependence on AIDS disables her. Show me a man who is productive and doesn’t compromise his MENTAL MUSCLE. Your father’s belongings are not yours. Work hard to get yours. You can only harness the resources to pave the way for your own greatness. The ability to work and the management of resources will sustain our lifestyle of freedom. We Nigerians are slaves because of our thinking. Nigerians trust the government to do everything for them, like giving them jobs, building houses, etc. “You have empowered yourself to dream and fulfill your dreams. If things don’t go well, it’s not the government, it’s you.”

Most of those in positions of authority in our country today grew up during the colonial era. They think that everyone has to go to the seat of power to find sustenance just as they did during the colonial era. Developed countries such as the United States of America, etc. they did not fall from the sky, they are created right here on planet earth. We can also build a developed Nigeria through FAITH, SWEAT and BLOOD. The prosperity of the citizens resulted in the prosperity of the nations. A rich nation is wounded and rich because its citizens are wounded and rich.

One of the products of the mentality of poverty and slavery is CORRUPTION. The mentality that we do not acquire or possess anything. We steal government and public property such as vehicles, motorcycles, tricycles, chairs, staplers, chalk, pins, generator sets to the point of stealing money. Students steal, teachers do the same. The executive arm of government steals, the legislature does the same, so does the judiciary. Civil workers steal, public servants do the same. We destroy the roads, all because they are not owned by us but by the government. Nigerians celebrate corruption and looters are being compensated with titles (social, religious, etc.). “What we’ve had in Africa (and dare I say Nigeria) is slave-minded people leading slave-minded people.” Slave-minded leaders cannot lead free people, so they go to great lengths to keep their subjects in a state of slavery. “Our slave-minded leaders knew that the greatest threat to their control is knowledge. Their main strategy is to keep these people who are free but still believe themselves to be slaves ignorant of the truth.” They know, according to John 8:32 that “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.” That is the reason behind the destruction of our educational system. They have no passion for education because if you are not informed you will be deformed and an informed man cannot be kept in captivity. Governments are controlling the press. In developed countries, the government cannot control that there is no talk of owning a media house. The ‘being’ in government that still has a slave mentality cannot lead Nigeria to freedom and prosperity. It does not matter what designation or portfolios we call him, President, Governor, Senator, Deputy, Commissioner, Presidents, Councilman or King. THERE IS NO MORE OPPORTUNITY FOR THESE PEOPLE IN THE GOVERNMENT ANY LONGER. There are people who are in the position and ready to tell the truth, but they are being manipulated into these evil SLAVE LEADER plots. They get contracts and guaranteed for maximum comfort.

Nigeria is ready to live a life of impact. “The order is changing. There are truly free people right now who have been freed from the limitations placed on their thinking by the environment. They grew up in Africa but they are not African in their thinking. They are citizens of the kingdom of God and ambassadors of God on planet earth, they grew up in an environment of poverty but have been freed from the spirit of poverty, and much more than that, now they are free from poverty mentality, instead of poverty consciousness, they have prosperity consciousness” (Pastor Sam Adeyemi).

Nigerians, stand up and go for the truth; go for information. Our freedom does not come from the government because God has given it to us. Punishment, despair, poverty, slavery and other forms of sin had been removed at the place of the skull (Golgotha) on Calvary’s cross by our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, all we need to do is get up, claim and live in it. Be careful who teaches you, a fellow slave cannot teach another slave to freedom, only a free man does. God has made us free to live a free life. So, he takes your position.

Our country is under a spell because we are free and still behave like someone who is in captivity. Therefore, Nigeria is under a spell. Our spell is POVERTY THOUGHT. The colonialists had evacuated this land fifty-six years ago; they are no longer the reason for our poverty. The reason we are poor is still POVERTY THOUGHT. Nigeria needs another revolution. Thanking God for the revolutionaries that God had used to fight for our independence, they fought for INDEPENDENCE but not for FREEDOM. We need another REVOLUTION. Our revolution is not like the French Revolution of 1789 or like that of America. Our revolution cannot be fought with guns, arrows, spears, nuclear energy and other physical powers. “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God for the destruction of strongholds…” All we need is a new generation of leaders and a new set of visionaries. We need a MENTAL STRUGGLE. A fight of KNOWLEDGE, WISDOM and REVELATION. One of the sophisticated weapons to use is our CREATIVE MENTAL THINKING. We need a revolution. “For since the days of John the Baptist the kingdom of the Lord has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force.” We need the revolution through violence and violence is not physical but mental and spiritual. LET’S CALL THE BLACK CAULDRON, BLACK and LET’S CALL THE THIEF, THIEF, no matter who is PRESIDENT, GOVERNOR or ANY OFFICE. THE DAYS OF SLAVERY AND POVERTY ARE OVER! WE ARE GOING TO LIVE IN A NEW NIGERIA.
