Stage One – Create a Daily Confidence Study Log

What you need to do is create a document that lists every day between now and when you will die. You can make your document paper, electronic, or both. I have gone for both. Now, there’s a problem, you don’t know when you’re going to die. To overcome this, you need to work on three dates:

1 – today’s date

2 – The date you will obtain the expected life expectancy for the country in which you live, and

3 – The date you will be 123 years old, if you live that long.

Let’s look at these in more detail.

1 – This is simple.

2 – All you need to do is a quick web search and you will find your life expectancy for your country. Simply add this to your date of birth and you have the date you are expected to die.

3 – Why 123 years? It’s because Jeanne Calment, who died on August 4, 1997, lived to be 122 years and 164 days, the oldest human on record. I just rounded it up to 123 years.

Once you have your three dates, you are ready to create your Daily Confidence Study Log. For my printed record I have used a word document and it is about 15 pages long. My electronic tracker is an Excel spreadsheet. Each one has a column for each year between now and my 123 year old date, and a row for each day of the year. That’s a lot of boxes!

Stage Two: Decide and Design Your Daily Confidence Study Activity

The next stage is designing an activity that you will do every day that will boost your confidence.

Examples could be:

1 – To read a web page in confidence.

2 – To watch an online video about trust.

3 – To read 50 places in an eBook in confidence.

4 – Spend 30 seconds visualizing yourself very confidently, and do this five times a day.

5 – Set a timer and write, for five minutes, the things you have done well today, both big and small.

6 – Spend five minutes looking at objects, for example a cat, and spell that object using positive words with the phrase “I am…” in front of the words. For example, “I’m smart,” “I’m awesome,” and “I’m awesome.”

7 – Set a timer and write, for five minutes, the blessings you have in your life, both the big things and the small ones.

As you design your activity, make it quick and easy (take no more than five minutes). This will make it much more likely that you will do the item consistently every day. And as you will see below, you can redesign your activity after a while.

Stage Three – Do the daily trust study activity on your first day and mark it on your log

Now all that’s left to do is actually do your business. Each day, once you’ve done your activity, check your tracker to say you’ve done it. On day one, I would suggest that as soon as you have designed your activity, do your activity right away.

The objective is, from now until you die, to carry out your activity as many days as possible. It’s unlikely you’ll get 100% of the days, but that shouldn’t stop you from trying. Go for the highest score possible.

Now, you will arrive on stage when the first activity you have designed has become a habit of yours. You will do it without thinking. Congratulations, you have taken a big step towards becoming secure for life. Now, there’s no point in keeping something that it now does automatically as an activity, so you’ll have to design a new activity. Use that activity and the tracker until the new activity also becomes a habit. And so.

As long as you keep using the tracker every day, you will gradually develop trustworthy habits one after another.

As long as you keep wearing concealer every day, your confidence will grow and grow and, that’s guaranteed for life.
