Some users of laminate flooring feel unwell after using it. In fact, many problems are caused by the bad way of installation. The way of installation is a key factor in deciding the performance and durability of laminate flooring. But many users know little about the installation. Therefore, it is necessary to let our clients know the corresponding notice.

1. Ordinary laminate flooring is not suitable for bathrooms or kitchens as it is not waterproof. But some special waterproof laminate flooring can be used for these places.

2. Make the subfloor for installation even, dry and clean. Shovel the obviously uneven spot and clean the subsoil. Do not install the floor if the subfloor is not sufficient.

3. The usual waste is around 4% of the total installation area. But the waste will be more if your house has stairs or your house is abnormal. Please note the quantity when you purchase the products. Talk to the seller of the floor to confirm the installation time.

4. Talk with the installer to choose the installation way, especially to choose the installation direction. Wrong direction will affect the appearance a lot.

5. Check the brand, pattern, quantity, click type, wear resistance ratings, core color, dimensions, and quality of the laminate flooring to see if it is the same as what you ordered after the seller send you the products. If not, please advise the seller to replace it as soon as possible.

6. Please tell the installer which place cannot be cut or nailed to avoid damage to the water pipe, other pipes and lines before installing the skirting and other accessories on the door and wall.

7. The base that will be placed directly on the subfloor must be well connected at its joints. And masking tape should be used to glue the joints. It is easy for vapor from the subfloor to touch the back of the floor due to leakage if the job is not done right.

8. Add the place to install to cut the planks. Planks can be cut in bathroom, corridor or balcony. Cut the plank at the base, as it will create problems for the installer’s future work.

9. The gap between the wall and the laminate floor should be between 8mm and 9mm. The table will expand and shrink. If there is no room for movement, they will curve and push up at the joints. Most users choose 8.3mm planks. So you can use a 8.3mm thick cut board as the standard gap and insert it into the gap. Remember to pick up the cut planks when you install the skirting boards, otherwise the planks will not be able to expand or contract freely. Cut planks should not be placed at the end or front of the floor if their length is less than 220mm.

10. The gap between the bottom of the door and the floor (including the accessory installed on the floor) must be between 4mm and 5mm so that the door can work well after sinking.

11. The planks must be arranged in the transversal and longitudinal directions. Each row must be in line.

12. Accessories such as T-molding or quarter-round should be used if the width or length of the floor is greater than 30′ to provide room for protrusion and shrinkage. Also the accessories should be used at the joints between the room and the outdoor place.

13. The space between the wall and the accessories must be adequate. The space should allow the planks to expand and shrink freely. You should also cover the space between the planks and the wall to prevent exposure of the wall.

14. Talk to the installer in time if there is something incomprehensible or you want to change any design. Please talk to the seller directly if you do not understand the matter in order to solve the problem in time.

15. Furniture should not be placed and people should not walk on the floor for 12 hours because the planks will expand or shrink after installation. Also the lock system starts working in this period. It still takes some time for the planks to be compatible with each other. No pressure should be exerted on the planks during this period.
