Another main destination is Puerto Plata, in the north of the Dominican Republic. This also has numerous resorts that offer all-inclusive vacations, and if you are a water sports enthusiast, the Playa Dorada beach is for you.

If you like museums full of local history, the spa in the southeast of La Romana is for you. It doesn’t have as many all-exclusive resorts as the first two I mentioned, but it’s still worth checking out. A trip to Catalina Island also makes a great day out.

The capital of the Dominican Republic is Santo Domingo, a very historic city that is home to numerous sites of historical interest and is also home to the oldest Cathedral in the world. There is also a very good selection of resorts that offer all inclusive.
