So you’ve discovered what you like to do and what you can see yourself doing on a daily basis. Your next step is to find your niche and develop your long tail of keywords.

Don’t worry if you don’t know which one or even both of those phrases is, that’s what this article is for. By the time you finish reading this, you’ll not only understand what they mean, you’ll have your niche and long tail of keywords in hand, armed and ready to take the next step to making free money!

First things first, what is a niche? Easy! A niche is a piece of the Internet pie. Let’s take dogs for example. Dogs are a very broad topic. Let’s narrow it down a bit. puppies? Well, that’s still a bit too big. How about “Chocolate Lab Puppies”? Now, THAT is a good niche! So now that you know what a niche is, it’s time to find yours!

There are several ways to find a niche that will put some cash in your pocket and still be fun for you. We’re going with “chocolate lab puppies” for this example. Go to Google and put your niche in quotes. So, in your Google toolbar, enter this: “chocolate lab puppies.” Now, look to the right of your screen and you will see a blue bar with the results of how many pages are available on that topic. Well, at the time of this writing, there are 18,900 pages. That is for many. Time to refine your niche a bit.

Go back to the Google search bar and enter (in quotes) a refined niche name. Let’s try “chocolate lab puppies.” Ahh, much better. Search results were at 5640 at the time of this writing. You should aim for this number to be between 1,000 and 5,000. So with our number 5,640, we are close enough!

Now, you have your niche, and believe it or not, your long tail of keywords. The difference you can ask for? Your niche, you will always remain within. With your Chocolate Lab Puppies niche, you will always be writing and selling stuff related to Chocolate Lab Puppies. However, their long tail of keywords is not that strict. Sure, you’ll use your long keyword when setting up your blogs and titling your articles. But, over time, you can add more similar long tail keywords to your site. (You will simply go through the same steps again.)

So what exactly are the steps? I’m glad you asked!

1. You have already found what you are passionate about.

2.With your passion in mind, search your Google search bar in quotes for a long string of words that you can focus your efforts on.

3. When you find one that is roughly 1000-5000 for the search result, you not only have your niche, but also your long tail of keywords.
