There are mainly 3 schools of theories on the use of birth time in Chinese astrology: the four pillars of destiny.

First school, local surveillance time to be used.

Second school, the time of birth must be converted to Beijing time.

Third school, the time of birth is not important, whatever the time of birth, just use it.

Each school has its own explanation. The following are the general point ideas of each school.
The reason for the first school is that it is the time for a particular place. wherever you are born you link or connect with that place. So that local time is used.

The theory of the second school is that Chinese Astrology – Four Pillars of Fate was invented in China. So wherever you were born, the birth time must be converted to Beijing time. For example, a person was born in Sydney at noon. When converting to Beijing time, we must deduct 2 hours (currently there is no daylight saving time), Sydney is 2 hours ahead of Beijing, at birth time. As a result, the birth time must be 10 am in the morning (Beijing time) to be used in the Four Pillars Natal Chart.

The argument of the third school is that Chinese Astrology is only a Metaphysics. Metaphysics is not based on physical evidence. For Metaphysics, anything that grabs hold of air can be used. So whatever time is given to you, just use it.

In my practice, I found that in Chinese Astrology – Four Pillars of Fate and Zi wei Dau Shu, the time of birth is very important in relation to calculating luck, especially when calculating a woman’s pregnancy since the Pillar of the Time is the Children’s House. .

The time of birth that I use in my readings is different from the three schools above.
I use solar time in my reading.

The time of birth is known as Time. And solar time should be used in Chinese astrology – the four pillars of destiny.
In Chinese astrology there is a saying: “If the time of birth is falsified, the fate or calculated luck is wrong.”
Chinese character time written as ” “, is made up of three different Chinese characters.

1. The Sun. ( )
2. The earth or soil. ( )
3. the inch. ( )

Imagine that the picture gives “Time” in Chinese characters are the sun, the earth and the inch. So that Time that has a meaning of: “The Sun shines in every centimeter of the earth”.

The word Solar comes from the word Sol. It implies Solar Time.

In my practice, I use Local Solar Time for my Natal Chart. It is much more accurate to use local solar time.
What is solar time?

Like the SUN and the Earth is turning. The weather is changing. However, for administrative purposes, day and night are divided into 24 hours. Each hour is 15 degrees longitude. 1 degree equals 4 minutes.

To calculate local solar time, we need to know what longitude we are using for a location. For example, Sydney and Melbourne times use the longitude 150E. Both cities use the same display time (GMT+10). However, the local solar time for the two cities is not the same. Sydney is at longitude 151″E and Melbourne is at longitude 144.58″E.

In the morning from 9 am to 11 am is the time of the snake. From 11 am to 1 pm is horse time. If a person is born in Melbourne at 11:10 in the morning, it is the time of the Horse. However, we need to calculate the Local Solar Time for the Four Pillars Natal Chart.

We need to take 20 minutes {(150-145) x 4min = 20minutes} from the clock time he was born. As a result, 11:10 am – 20 min = 10:50 am in the morning. It becomes the hour of the Serpent.
