More than 2.05 million students are now learning at home instead of in a classroom. The reasons why is a shocking 73% who say they are homeschooling because they are dissatisfied with the way public schools are run.

Most parents don’t think twice when August rolls around and it’s time for the kids to go back to school. Many parents work during the day and have to pay for a babysitter during their work week. I’ve even seen it so bad that a single woman was completely broke after paying the minimum bills for herself, the babysitter and gas. That would definitely be the scam of her children attending public school. Another downside would be that you have to worry about bullying. Watching the news every day, you’ll see elementary school students shooting up schools and things like that are pretty scary. The biggest pro when it comes to having his child in a public school is the fact that a teacher, who spent many hours at the school learning how to teach children of that age, spent the whole day with his little angels .

Well, what kind of profession will my son go into if he stays home to go to school? He’ll make them fat and lazy and then I’ll be stuck with a couch potato? Statistics say that 17.3% of men become accountants or engineers. Surprisingly, 169% become a teacher, doctor or lawyer. However, according to the natural assessment of children’s education, only 13% of public school students are proficient in US history. Strange, isn’t that where we live?

If you get home early from work and usually take a nap before unloading the kids from the bus, you can kiss that nap goodbye. If you work at home, like I do, and take the kids to the bus stop and then come home and take a nap, you can kiss those naps goodbye. One of my favorite perks of homeschooling is the fact that there’s no rush in the morning anymore. Do you remember these?

“Come on guys, you’re going to be late. Get up!”

“Your breakfast is getting cold.”

What do you mean you can’t find half your books? Where did you last have them?”

“You have a test today, and you went out this weekend to have fun, but you didn’t study?”

“You Are Grounded”

“You Are Grounded”

“Why didn’t you put the clothes you wanted to wash in the washing machine this weekend until Monday morning?”

Now they can go to a quiet room in their pajamas and do their school work.

Have you ever had a student come home and tell you that his teacher wants to get him? That they are giving them bad grades for no reason? Well guess what, being the learning coach, you want your child to do the best he’s ever done, so he’s not going to let that happen.

Honestly, in my opinion, homeschooling and virtual schools are the newest things to take over. Soon enough, there won’t be many public schools left, except for those parents whose children are too young to stay home. You have the opportunity to learn too.

I don’t know about you, but the older I get, the more I feel like I’m getting dumber. When I started helping my 3rd and 5th grade son, I was amazed at how much I forgot. This makes me feel better, and when the kids talk to me about what they learned in school that day, instead of pretending I understand, I actually get to talk to them and we have family learning time.

The last thing I wanted to mention is about the projects. How many times has your child brought home a piece of cardboard and said: I have to do a project? “Well, what kind?” You ask them. They look at you with that blank expression like you know this and say… “I don’t know.” Well, if you read ahead a day or two in their lesson books, you’ll know what they’re going to do, so there won’t be any confusion. Homeschooling and virtual school are definitely the way to go.

I recently came across some really amazing facts that you would never guess if you didn’t see the proof in front of you. Did you know that homeschoolers are affected by external factors?
