Aldur’s Watchtower is a 4-piece set designed for a druid. Any class can use the boots, armor, and weapon, but only the druid can use the class-specific helm.

Here are the four elements and their individual analysis:

Note: The partial bonuses for each item are listed multiple times because you get a partial bonus for each of the other items in the set. For example, with Aldur’s Stone Gaze, you get +15 energy for equipping another item in the set. You receive +15 bonus energy (+30 total) when you have equipped two other items in the set. You get a total of +45 to energy on Aldur’s Stony Gaze if you complete the set.

Aldur’s Stone Gaze (Hunter’s Disguise Helm Set)

Defense: 157-171 (varies) (Base Defense: 67-81)

+5TB light radius

+15 to energy (2 items)

+15 to energy (3 items)

+15TB of power (full game)

Analysis: This helm can only be wielded by a druid. He is a moderately useful druid, given his level requirement. Due to the %FHR and Regenerate Mana mod, it is especially suited to druids who engage in close combat, which are generally shapeshifters who use Mana for rage or shockwaves.

Aldur’s Advance (Battle Boots Set)

Defense: 39-47 (varies)

Required level: 45

Strength required: 95

Assassin Kick Damage: 37-64

Indestructible

+15 TB Dexterity (Full Set)

Analysis: These are good boots, despite the high Strength requirement, and some other classes will also find them useful due to the 40% faster run/walk speed, a small bonus to health, and good fire resistance.

Aldur’s Deception (Shadow Plate Set)

Defense: 746-857 (varies) (Base Defense: 446-557)

Required level: 76

Force Required: 115

+15 to vitality (2 items)

+15 TB of vitality (3 items)

+15 TB of vitality (full game)

Analysis: At first glance, this armor may seem decent, but the high level requirement is a huge drawback. By the time your character reaches level 76, there are much better armors for you to choose from.

Aldur’s Rhythm (Jagged Star Array)

One Handed Damage: 60 to 93 (76.5 avg)

Required level: 42

Force Required: 74

Durability: 72

+15 to strength (2 item)

+15 to strength (3 elements)

+15 to strength (full game)

Analysis: With a good leech of IAS, life, and mana, Aldur’s Pace is a decent weapon when you’re level 42 or so, but once you’re level high enough (76) to use the deception of Aldur, the damage it deals is a shame compared to what you could get with other weapons.

Full Bonus Set

Final summary of the Aldur Watchtower set:

While some pieces of Aldur’s Watch (the boots and possibly the weapon) may be suitable for use by other classes, as a set it is designed with shape-shifting druids in mind. Both werewolves and werebears can make full use of %FHR, faster run/walk, IAS, and the Life & Mana leech. The set bonuses for a full set are quite useful, but the main drawback is still the high level requirement of the armor.
