Technical diving can be defined as diving that goes beyond the specified limits of recreational diving. It is non-professional diving. The diver is exposed to more risks and dangers of diving than normal diving. However, by using the proper equipment and acquiring skills, the diver can equip himself to counter the associated dangers.

You may wonder, “What is the need for me to expose myself to such risks?”

If you wish to enter the realms of the underwater world where few have, you must take these risks. Technical diving will allow you to see rare wrecks. You can see exotic marine life not found in normal diving areas.

To get started with basic technical diving, you need:

• Hold PADI advanced open water diver certification or equivalent

• A minimum of 10 logged dives.

• You must be at least 18 years old.

To become a competent diver, you need to:

1. Equipment:

A. Twin cylinders or closed circuit re-breathers (CCR)

b. One or more additional tanks, each with different gas mixtures.

vs. Two or more independent multi-gas dive computers and regulators.

d. Backup copies of other diving equipment.

my. In addition to this, the diver will need basic equipment such as

• Primary mask

• Purposes

• Wing type BCD and harness

• Submersible pressure gauges.

• Dry suit, etc.

2. Hours:

Technical diving requires a lot of planning. You will need to know how much gas you need for the dive and equip accordingly. You need to carry enough gasoline for the entire dive and carry a reserve for emergencies.

Since you will be diving to great depths, you should double check the condition of your scuba equipment.

3. Required skills:

The basic skill sets required for technical diving are:

A. Divers must complete the following checks before attempting the dive.

• Pre-Dive Check – Once fully dressed for a dive, each team member must check their equipment.

• Descent Check: Depending on site condition, each team member inspects the equipment of other team members for leaks and entangled equipment.

• S-Drill: This involves each team member running a procedure to share gas with another team member.

b. Develop finning techniques and improve trim/buoyancy control.

against Practice valve exercises.

d. To improve muscle memory, you should practice removing and replacing stage/deco cylinders.

my. Practice deploying a lift bag and running a reel.

F. After each dive, time should be allocated to discuss the ups and downs of the dive.

Once you have all the essential equipment and have taken the necessary training, you can plan your technical dive. Dive into the deep waters and discover the wonders of the underwater world!
