Make your mastiff hear his name

The Mastiff is a very stubborn dog to be trained or made to do anything you want it to do. Now I know that for some of us who have a mastiff, the first task is to get them to learn his name. Getting your mastiff to come to his name is another challenge, but the first thing you need to accomplish is getting them to know the name you want them to respond to. This is the number one method I have found for my pet to learn his name quickly.

The way I was able to get my mastiff to learn his name and started to get him to do it in a short period of time was that I took and repeated his name every time I spoke to him. Now I know some people would like me to be weird when I sat there and just repeated my new puppy’s name, but it made me learn his name real quick.

The next challenge was getting him to come up with his name once he had learned it. That was done by keeping him on the leash and letting him go when I knew I could trust him a little more and then when he started to stray I would clap my hands and he would come. running towards me. In order for him to keep doing this and as a reward, I would normally give him a small gift to reward him.
