I can clearly remember the first time I experienced itchy toes at night. Without a doubt, this has been the biggest frustration of my life. If you or a loved one suffers from this chronic misery night after night, you know exactly what I’m talking about. Over the years I have discovered a way to manage and eliminate the problem of itchy toes overnight and it is my passion to share this with everyone who suffered like me. With this article, I will explain what causes itchy toes at night and give several methods to eliminate the cause.

Most of the medical problems that occur are directly related to the health of your colon. That’s right folks, a healthy digestive tract is vital to your overall health. An unhealthy intestinal pathway is established when the ratio of good to bad bacterial cultures is less than 80/20. Unfortunately, with the food we eat and the pollutants present in the world we live in, many people struggle to keep this balance in check. The result that most often causes one to suffer from itchy toes at night is yeast. Also known as Candida albicans, yeast is a reluctant, hook-shaped microorganism that latches onto soft tissue, causing inflammation and itching.

Most of the time, this itchy sensation will occur in the toes as blood flow carries it from the digestive tract to the extremities. If left unchecked, this discomfort will spread to the fingers, legs, armpits, and other areas of the body. The reason the symptoms are worse at night is because the yeasts (living organisms) are stimulated by the hormones released by the sleep cycle. Most doctors will tell you that it is impossible to kill it without the help of strong antibiotics. The problem with this is that after a bout of strong, even mild antibiotics, the good probiotic bacteria in your gut are eradicated along with the harmful yeast, leaving your body defenseless once again.

So how do we kill these seemingly unkillable little demons that suffer us to itchy toes at night? In addition to the three effective tips I share below, check out my blog in the author box at the bottom of this article for even more information.

Step 1.

You have to fight this battle on its own front, namely the intestines. Go to your local health food store or supermarket and get on a regular regimen of a live probiotic. The best way to get this into your body is by taking it in pill or powder form, a simple acidophilus will serve the purpose very well. Yogurt or milk based cultures on the market will not get you anywhere near the parts per million of starter cultures you need to get back to that healthy ratio.

Step 2.

Starve the yeast. A yeast culture is a very simple microorganism and as such requires the simplest form of nutrition which is a monosaccharide, any form of simple sugar. Foods that promote rapid Candida overgrowth are foods like candy, breads, soft drinks, pasta, and almost all sugar or starch based foods that we all love so much. Refuse these foods during your healing process and your yeast infection symptoms will clear up much more quickly.

Step 3.

Feed your body what it needs. We’re talking about foods that promote yeast growth, so foods that kill yeast are just as important. Antifungal and anti-yeast foods include ginger, curry, coconut oil, turmeric, and any alkalizing foods like green leafy vegetables. Tea tree oil is also a great anti yeast agent. Make these foods a staple in your diet to eliminate Candida in a healthy way.

In short, yeast overgrowth is one of the worst chronic frustrations of the 21st century. Symptoms often show up as itchy toes at night along with countless other topical irritations. There are several ways to combat yeast, including adding a probiotic to your regular diet, avoiding foods high in simple sugars, and adding anti-yeast and fungal foods.
