Let’s dive deeper into how we can create webinars that people actually enjoy and learn a lot of information. Unfortunately, not all of today’s webinars can fit into that category. Frankly, many of them are a waste of time. This is because they haven’t taken the time to plan and design it properly, even though many of them meant well.

With that said, let’s look at a few more features we found in webinars that are a smashing success.

use a moderator. It’s amazing how many people fail to see the value of a moderator when it comes to creating a webinar. The fact is, you need this person to speed up the whole experience for the audience. The moderators keep the event focused and at a brisk pace that is conducive to good learning. Not only should you have a moderator, you should also be very selective in choosing one. Just like with the speaker, you need a person who has the right personality to be a moderator.

Think well before using videos. While video is one of the newest and greatest things on the internet, it’s not necessarily a great thing to have in a webinar. Because? Simply because they have a tendency to change the pace and energy of the event. You need to understand that the speaker and moderator have worked hard to engage the audience and videos often interrupt this process. In addition, the videos may present technical problems. If you build an audience for them, you better make sure they work. If you absolutely must have a video to demonstrate something of high value to your audience, try to keep it as short as possible.

Rehearse and practice your webinar. One of the best ways to ensure that you will have the great webinar is to practice and rehearse the event, and then practice and rehearse the event a few more times. Regardless of what people may say, you just can’t be too prepared for a webinar. Practice sessions allow you to accomplish many things. For starters, it allows you to test all connections to your personal computers and slideshows, and allows you to test your Internet connection if necessary.

Second, it gives your speaker and moderator a chance to work together and begin to set the tone and pace of the event. It’s a good idea to come up with lots of objections and questions that the audience can put to them. Nothing gives the audience a better feeling about your product and services than having your webinar leaders confidently handle all questions.
