A chicken tractor is also known as an A-frame chicken coop. This is because the frame is made of planks of wood joined together in the shape of the letter “A”. Then the frame is surrounded with a wire mesh. A chicken tractor has no floor and the roosters are free to dig through the ground for bugs and insects.

As an added bonus, any chicken droppings will fall to the ground and act as fertilizer. The simple design also means less cleanup work for you. A chicken tractor is light and can be moved. For even better mobility, you can even add wheels to the base. By moving the ark, you will give your chicken access to fresh grass. It will also give the grass some room to recover and grow after being trampled. It is recommended that you move your coop once a week.

Before you start the construction of the chicken tractor, decide how many poultry you want to have. It would be a good idea to make a larger cooperative to account for future expansion. When hens are comfortable and healthy, they will lay more eggs that will hatch into chicks later.
