Tools. Everyone needs them, some are better than others, and you should always use the right tool for the job. Below is a list of some essential tools that I use on a daily basis to help me on this journey called life. They are definitely not the only ones that will do the job, but they are the ones I prefer.

iphone

This is my all-in-one device of choice. You can use Google Android, Palm Pre, or some version of Blackberry, but whatever your choice, they’re a must in today’s professional environment. You no longer have to carry a phone, calendar, camera, camcorder, game system, music player, etc. Everything is in a neat and tidy package. These devices are great and they are only going to get better. If you don’t already have one, go get one immediately. You will not regret.

Moleskine Notebooks

These are the classics. They’ve been around for years, they’re just as anti-tech as the old ones are technical, and it feels good to have them around. I use them for general notes, journals, planning, whatever. Sometimes you just need good old dead trees instead of digital trees.

Fisher Space Pens

I’m sure I’ll have some dissenters here, but for the money, I haven’t found a pen I like better. They write anywhere, are pretty fancy, and you can get one without having to take out a loan. Since I lose pens quite often, I usually buy a couple at a time and still don’t feel like I’m breaking the bank. Try them, they will surprise you.

Google

It is no longer just a search engine. Gmail is amazing for mail, calendar, and contacts, and it just keeps getting better. Google Voice is starting to revolutionize phones and it’s only going to get better. Google Apps gives you great apps, for free, to run your business. Google Earth is just great. Google Docs allows you to easily convert and share documents. AdWords, AdSense and Analytics OMG! Oh, and they do that search thing pretty well, too.

bridge of time

Timebridge does for meetings what Avoid does for invitations, it makes them easy. If he’s ever played email ping-pong trying to set up a meeting among many attendees, he knows how annoying it is. Enter Bridge of Time. With Timebridge, you can suggest various meeting times, let everyone choose their best option, and Timebridge schedules the best time for everyone. Of course you can send it to your Gmail calendar!

These are some of my favorites, what are some of the tools you will use to find your peak in 2010?
