A man whose spouse has died is a widower. A widower is a person who has survived the woman he was married to at the time of his death. Widowers may feel a deep sense of loss for someone who kept them organized and whole. The premature death of the wife leads to the loss of the main source of protection, support and comfort in the life of the widower.

The widower may experience a variety of emotions, including anger, numbness, denial and deep sadness, shock (if the wife’s death is sudden and unexpected), along with many physical problems.

Factors responsible for widowhood:

2nd house: wife’s longevity

7th house: indicates wife

eighth house: death house for wife

Venus: wife signifier

March: sudden deaths due to injuries/accidents/fevers/weapons

Saturn: significator of longevity/death of a person

Different combinations for widower hood:

  • Rahu and Saturn placed in 2º, indicate that the native will give up his wife or his wife will die before her time.
  • The lords of the 2nd and 7th, combined in the 3rd, 6th, 8th, and 12th houses, indicate the consecutive deaths of three wives. But if the lords of 2 and 7 are strong, the wife will live longer.
  • If the 2nd house and its ruler from the ascendant/Moon are very powerful but severely influenced by Mars, then the native’s wife will die prematurely.

  • A malefic posited in 7th and aspected by a malefic planet.
  • A weak planet is positioned in the 7th.
  • Lord of the 5th placed in the 7th house.

  • Mars placed in ascendant/4°/7°/8°/12°, indicates premature death of the wife.

Venus:

  • Venus combined with a malefic in the 7th house, without having the influence of any beneficial planet.
  • The lord of the 7th and Venus are auspicious and placed in the 7th, and if the 7th house/lord is strong with no influence on the evil planets, the husband and wife will die simultaneously.
  • Weakened Venus and Moon placed in the 4th house, indicates the early death of the wife.
  • Venus postulated in dual sign, 7th house afflicted by malefic, the native has to bear the pain that arises from the death of the wife.
