Tata Nano road test review

Tata Motors has come together with the words “Value” and “For the masses” and the Nano is no different. A car made for the common man that anyone could bring, the Nano has the Indian automotive sector on the global map. Many thought that it was not possible to make a car that cost less and performed like a car. Many laughed, but at the 2008 Auto Expo in Delhi, everyone was shocked.

The Tata Nano is a very cute looking car and although people perceive it, the car is not far behind. The 2-cylinder rear engine performs exceptionally well and you’ll never feel a lack of power until 60 km/h, after which the Nano’s lack of horsepower starts to become apparent. We love the practicality of the car with ample room for a car this size and 21% more space than its closest competitor, the Maruti Suzuki 800, which also costs twice as much and lacks the safety of the Nano.

Ride quality is decent, and the Nano doesn’t feel jerky, handling is agile, and it’s easy to drive in traffic. The Nano has basic features while the top version has many standard features along with air conditioning. Overall the Nano is a very good car, offering fantastic value for money. It offers close to 20kmpl which makes it economical and now Tata Motors offers a 4 year 80,000km warranty making it easily the best small car to buy in India.
