Sonos S5 review:

The positives:

  • Crystal clear sound quality
  • Place the Sonos S5 in any room with its wireless connectivity
  • Comfortably control your Sonos S5 with your iPhone, iPad and Android
  • Access your iTunes and thousands of free radio stations
  • Listen to music immediately with the Sonos S5 Quick Install

The negatives:

  • It’s not cheap, but the quality of the speakers makes it worth it.
  • Requires a separate ZoneBridge to connect wirelessly to your router

The Sonos S5 is an incredible piece of audio technology that will allow you to play the music you want when you want, all from the comfort of your mobile phone. The Sonos S5 contains 5 speakers; 2 tweeters, 2 midrange drivers and 1 subwoofer for high quality surround sound. The S5 can also connect to your computer and your other Sonos devices wirelessly. This, along with controlling your Sonos system with your iPhone and Android, allows you to control what music is playing anywhere in your home.

In addition to the convenience of control, the installation of the Sonos S5 only takes about 5 minutes. After reading countless Sonos reviews, Quick Install is by far the most loved feature by customers.

Of course the Sonos S5 is a speaker, so what music does it play? The answer is whatever you want. The Sonos Wireless Music System lets you sync your S5 with your iTunes, allowing you to play all the music you love. If that’s not enough, the S5 also has thousands of free built-in radio stations, including Pandora.

The only negatives to the Sonos S5 are the need for a ZoneBridge for full wireless connectivity and the cost. ZoneBridge is a device that connects to your router. The Sonos S5 costs around $ 399, which may seem like a lot at first, but most customers have clearly stated that it was a worthwhile investment.

Note: most Sonos speakers contain some of the same positives, such as easy setup. I originally wrote these articles as three separate reviews, so some of the content may be repeated to correspond with the particular Sonos Zoneplayer that I am currently reviewing.

Sonos ZP90:

Positive aspects:

  • Integrate the Sonos ZP90 with any of your audio devices or home theater systems
  • Play music instantly with easy setup and easy wireless connectivity
  • Place the Sonos ZP90 anywhere in your home with its compact size
  • Listen to music throughout the room with excellent sound quality.
  • Comfortably control the Sonos ZP90 with your iPod, iPad or Android for free

Negative aspects:

  • A little more difficult to properly sync non-Sonos theater systems
  • Requires a separate ZoneBridge to connect wirelessly to your router
  • The speaker is expensive but the quality makes it worth it.

If you currently own a home theater or audio system, the ZP90 can connect to those systems and integrate them into your Sonos wireless music system. Customers continually praise the Sonos’ quick setup and the Sonos ZP90 is no different. The Sonos ZP90 just works when it’s supposed to allow non-technically inclined people to enjoy their music in minutes. The small size and excellent sound quality make the Sonos ZP90 perfect for any room. Another cool aspect that I’ve found customers love through my extensive research is the ability to control their Sonos ZP90 with their iPod, iPhone, iPad, and Android. The app is free and makes it easy to control all of your Sonos products.

Some customers have stated that they have had trouble syncing the Sonos ZP90 with their current home audio systems. However, most have also stated that the problem can be fixed by calling Sonos customer service. Additionally, a ZoneBridge is required for all of your Sonos products to go wireless. Otherwise, the speakers must be connected to your router with the provided Ethernet cable. The speakers are not cheap and cost around $ 350. However, the quality of the Sonos ZP90 more than makes up for it and many customers have specifically mentioned it in their reviews.

Sonos ZP120:

The positives:

  • Extremely powerful with high-quality sound, amplifier and additional subwoofer
  • Integrate the Sonos ZP120 with any of your audio devices or home theater systems
  • Place the Sonos ZP120 anywhere in your home with its compact size
  • Play music instantly with easy setup and easy wireless connectivity
  • Comfortably control the Sonos ZP120 with your iPod, iPad or Android for free

The negatives:

  • A little more difficult to properly sync non-Sonos theater systems
  • Requires a ZoneBridge for full wireless connectivity
  • Expensive but easily the most powerful Sonos ZonePlayer

The Sonos ZP120 is basically a more powerful version of the Sonos ZP90. However, what really sets it apart is the powerful amplifier and speaker subwoofer which are perfect for any home theater. Like all Sonos products, the ZP120 has a very quick setup and clear sound. These aspects, together with wireless control from your mobile phone, make the ZP120 truly a high-quality speaker.

However, nothing is perfect and the ZP120 is no exception. The problems with the Sonos ZP120 are the same as with the ZP90. The slightly confusing integration with your current home, the need for a ZoneBridge for wireless connectivity, and the cost don’t help the ZP120, but overall; the quality of the Sonos ZP120 far outweighs the minor negatives.

That’s it for now, I spent a lot of time and effort formulating these Sonos reviews so I hope you enjoyed it = D!
