Do the poor really get poorer? Rhetorical question I must say, because it seems to me the slogan “the rich get richer and the poor get poorer“, often used when discussing economic inequality, is said simply to satisfy the laws of rhyming. A poor man is poor. If anything else is taken from him, then he is dead. So what state is probably would it be worse to receive the comparative suffix? “eh”?

Just as the north and south poles never meet, the slogan emphasizes the divergent relationship between rich and poor. But there is ONLY one thing in common; “God makes them all.” He makes the rich to LOVE and GIVE to the poor and he makes the poor to HUMBLELY RECEIVE from the rich. Thus fostering a relationship, between them, that can only converge, survive and flourish in an atmosphere of LOVE and HUMILITY.

During a debate on ‘poverty and the poor’, Confucius said: “In a well governed country, poverty is something to be ashamed of and in a poorly governed country; wealth is something to be ashamed of“. As a country is made up of a large group of people, we can say: “For a well-informed person, poverty is something to be ashamed of and for an ill-informed person; wealth is something to be ashamed of.” Information empowers and that power is all it takes to build wealth. Give all the wealth in the world to a man who lacks information (knowledge), you are just wasting precious time and resources fueling their poverty. Poverty is a mindset, not a “pocket set“and we must graduate from the low level of thinking that has led us to believe that poverty is a state of not having money to spend; not being able to afford or get what you want. Delineating poverty in that way is like defining a noun as a noun of any person, animal, place or thing. This was true up to a point, but we grew up and more was expected of us. I remember how a teacher in high school asked me to define a noun and when I gallantly handed over the above definition thinking that had done the question justice, she replied “that was great for elementary school, now give us a definition that shows you’re now in a high school qualifier. I looked around to see if any other hands were raised to answer the question, but there were NONE. Then it occurred to me, that life is in stages and everything progresses as we grow, including definitions. ition dictionary replaces the 6 p because the definitions have been improved and new words have been added. Now, poverty is a state of lack not only of money, but also of the mental power to process and make effective use of available information. And a noun is not only the name of a person, or that of an animal, place or thing, but also a word or group of words that represents an activity, a quality or an idea, which can also be used as a subject or object. of a verb Following the definition above, then a country is a noun that represents the activities of the rulers, perhaps “leaders” (as the case may be), and that of the people, as well as their qualities and ideas, which help us decide who is the subject and/or the object of those activities.

Now let’s analyze the above definition using Nigeria as an example. We are all, through the media, familiar with the activities of the leaders and people of Nigeria, so I will not bore you with them again. I just want us to establish a relationship (if any) between these activities and its ratio to the qualities Y ideas of the parties involved.

Ideas they start as “thoughts”. Write the vision (in words); make it clear on the boards, so whoever sees it can “RUN” with it. Running with your ideas is acting on them (action). And a compilation of a group of the same or sometimes different actions describes your Activities. When we critically study the trend of a man’s regular activities, both visible and hidden, we can say of what material he is made, that is, his Ratings. In a nutshell, in the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson: “Watch your thoughts, they become words. Choose your words, they become actions. Understand your actions, they become habits. Study your clothes, it becomes character. Develop your character, it becomes your destiny.“that is, thoughts (ideas) = words = actions = clothes (activities) = character (qualities) = destination. If we take a current Nigerian leader, for example, and reverse the above equation, starting with character, realizing that any given process involves “TIME” and add a time frame of, say, 10 years to each of these milestones , then your character (qualities) at the age of 65 depends on your habits (regular activities) at age 55, and those habits depend on your actions at age 45, and those actions depend on your words at age 35, and those words are a direct result of your thoughts (ideas) at the age of 25 years. Unequivocally proven, this is an indication that the qualities of our leaders today (who are mostly between 55 and 65 years old) are the result of their ideas when they were still young (an average young man between 20 and 30 years old). Therefore, the answers to the question “which are the qualities of an average Nigerian leader?“are latent in the answers to the fundamental question”which are the ideas of an average young Nigerian?“and the answers to the last question determine the activities that lead to the first.

The Children of Yesterday are the Youth of Today; The youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow. The youth of yesterday are the leaders of today; The leaders of today are the godfathers of tomorrow. NIGERIA YOUTH!!! What are your thoughts? What ideas do you have for yourself, your immediate environment and, in turn, the entire Nation? King David was never clueless. Even as a child, he had a strong character and saved the town from him. David Adegboyega, in his book ‘Sound Character: A Maxim for a Successful Future’, said: “building your character traits is not an overnight business“. A God-fearing, responsible and people-oriented leader is not made overnight, his training starts from his vision when he was young. A young man who bribed his teachers in school to graduate will automatically manage badly funds the Nation if he becomes a leader.young people who can’t keep their word today can’t build a nation tomorrow.Bad character traits can be as simple as throwing dirt from your car onto the road, disobeying rules traffic and stand in line. You want 5 million naira, but how has your immediate environment benefited from the small 500 Naira in your hand? You want to be the Governor of your State, so that every indigenous person can live in a skyscraper. But tell me, what sacrifices did you make as class governor in your department? He who is not faithful in little cannot be faithful in much. These things are seeds. Sow discontent and greed like the youth of today and cos cast out corruption and embezzlement as the leader of tomorrow. Today’s leaders may be indifferent to a paradigm shift, but I believe there is a shred of hope in the Nigerian youth who decide to listen and obey the Bugler. I was so moved the first time I heard over 2,600 young Nigerians sing the national anthem at the NYSC orientation camp during my year of service. I was very moved by the harmony of the intertwined male and female voices. I said in my heart, if every person on this ground took their rightful place as a Nation Builder, history probably would have changed. We may complain that those who call us the leaders of tomorrow deny us the opportunity to fill the “seats”, but that is not an excuse but rather a challenge to be more equipped and prepared for the enormous tasks that lie ahead. Whether anyone likes it or not, some of us will soon find opportunities knocking on our doors. And the opportunity you haven’t prepared for will be misused. But then I charge you, don’t wait for the “opportunities” to come knocking, go break the rock and create the one you want to take.

This nation has suffered so much for too long at the hands of “accidental heroes.” O God of creation, direct our course (wondering if it is still noble), guide our leaders correctly and in case it is too late, then please help our youth to the truth to know that the poor do not have to become poorer even when the rich get richer, that the smart don’t have to think too much until they lose their minds, and the dumb don’t have to pay for not thinking at all. Some have more food than appetite while others have more appetite than food. Artists use lies to paint the truth with a brush and our “rulers” use the truth to paint lies, which they are in love with. Parents watch as discontent sits with their son and from his youth, greed rocks him into adulthood. A bad father begets a bad son, a bad son becomes a bad young man, and a terrible young man turns out to be a lousy leader. A sound character is all that is needed. You already have it, you have it ALL. According to a Chinese proverb “The distance tests the strength of a horse. Time reveals a person’s character.“. THE LEADER YOU WANT TO SEE IS THE YOUNG YOU HAVE TO BE.
