Off-road quads are hardwired to tackle rough terrain. These types of bikes are highly sought after although they are not designed to be ridden on populated roads as they do not come with lights, horns and mirrors like any regular vehicle, making them illegal to drive on the street. However, the on-road version is fully equipped to ride legally on the road. These are more practical as you can ride them off-road as well.

Recreational or sport bikes are usually smaller than utility bikes. These are considered sport quads because they can be revved up quickly. They are two-wheel drive automatic cars that can be quickly maneuvered, offering quick movement to adventure enthusiasts. These are normally used in racing. Both sport and utility quads can be used for on-road and off-road driving, as long as they meet the legal requirements for on-road driving.

When looking for quads for sale, keep in mind that smaller vehicles are typically equipped with engines up to 50cc, while larger ones have engines that top out at 1000cc or more. The smaller engines are ideal for children, as children’s quads should not reach more than 90cc. Test drive the bike to see if it’s what you’re looking for.
