6 insanely fun and easy ideas for backyard games

There are many ways to spend your vacation days during the summer. You can go on vacation to another country with your family. You can also dedicate yourself to reading that novel that you have always wanted, but have never had time to do so. Hang out with friends and just chat. Or spend time playing with your children in your backyard. Do you want to have the most fun with your children? Having trouble figuring out what to do? Here are six incredibly fun and easy-to-achieve ideas at little to no cost:

1. Sprinkler limbo

Many of today’s children have no idea what limbo is. Do you remember the days you spent playing and how much fun you had? This is an even better variation. It is no different in terms of rules. Of course, you can always add a few, if you like. The difference is that you can cool off with water while you play. At almost no cost, you can make it happen. All you need is a meter-long PVC pipe (or a piece of garden hose). Drill holes, plug one end, and firmly connect the other to your hose. Turn on the water and let the games begin!

2. Pirate’s Day

You can see this game in many seaside resorts, where there is entertainment for guests. Why not do it yourself? It is not difficult at all! All you need is some imagination, paper, cardboard, pencils, and a treasure (mostly candy, but you can get something better, like a toy). If you have face paint it will be even better, since you can paint patches on the eyes, scars, etc. The paper is to make a map of your backyard, pointing out your treasure. You cut the map into pieces and hide them in various places in the garden. You keep one piece, so you can start somewhere. You can also burn the edges of the paper with a lighter to give it that old, pirate look. From cardboard you can cut out swords (it is good to tape the edges, as they can be sharp). You are ready to start your adventure. Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of juice!

3. Battle of sponges

Venturing into an epic showdown. This is the place where the kings of the five kingdoms engage in a final battle. What determines who will be the only ruler. I got carried away a bit, but adding a story to each game makes it more fun. All you need here are sponges and buckets of water. May the one with the best aim win!

4. make a wall of water

What? Will we make a wall of water? Well, no. The idea is to make a system that takes water from one place to another in a fun way. Materials needed are empty plastic bottles, PVC pipes, or old hoses (or basically anything you can pour water into and poke a hole in). Other things you may need are string or nails and a hammer. So this is how it all comes together. You need a tall vertical wall (your backyard fence is great for this). Attach all those bottles, pipes, etc. cascading from the top to the bottom of the wall. Make sure that when pouring water into the top container, the hole you made on the bottom or side is just above the hole in the bottom container. Now start pouring and enjoy what you have accomplished.

5. Play dirty

Playing in a sandbox is fun. Playing on a pile of dirt, which easily turns into mud or molded into clay, can be even better. Here children can model a landscape of Mars and go on missions with their toy armies. They can also use toy earthmoving trucks to, well, earthmoving. Rocks can provide structure for mountains or roads. Just make sure you don’t leave them unattended, they can wreak havoc on your garden. After that, you will surely need landscaping services to help you repair the damage they had caused.

6. Watch a movie under the stars

After a tiring day of play, what better than a movie with the whole family. All you need is a large white sheet and a projector. Lie under the stars and enjoy your quality time together.
